Tesla in China | A Risky Adventure
Tesla in China has been a phenomenal success story, not just based on vehicles sold, but because Tesla’s Gigafactory is the only foreign owned factory in China. Why is China so welcoming of Tesla? Perhaps it’s because you should keep your friends close and your enemies closer. As for Tesla, they see China as a massive opportunity – the biggest automotive market in the world where a third of the world’s cars are sold. Tesla is doing quite well in China with about 10 to 15% market share, and they’re looking to increase that number through price cuts as they ward off strong competitors like BYD. Elon Musk said the second biggest EV company will come out of China, and it’s easy to see why he thinks that when you see the remarkable progress being made by the smart and hard working Chinese.
